DRRSB Owned Properties
Public Housing
District of Rainy River Services Board (DRRSB) is responsible for all public housing in the Rainy River District. The DRRSB directly owns and operates 296 units. Units are found across the region from Rainy River to Atikokan.
Housing is provided to all types of low income households – families, seniors and singles. All tenants pay rent based on income.

Non-Profit Housing
Non-Profit Housing
There are currently ten providers of Non-Profit Housing throughout the district, these providers own and manage their projects. Both have independent Boards to manage their projects. Operating agreements are the basic contract between the Ministry and the Non-Profit Corporation and projects are developed under a number of different non-profit housing programs. Rent Supplement
Overview
The Rent Supplement Program offers rent-geared-to-income accommodations in privately owned buildings throughout the Rainy River District. A “rent supplement” is a subsidy provided to landlords to bridge the gap between the market rent for the unit and amount the tenant can pay based on their income. For example, if the market rent on a unit is $600 per month and the tenant’s rent according to their income is $200, the rent supplement portion paid to the landlord on a monthly basis would be $400.
