Get Assistance with Child Care Fees

Fee Subsidy can help you with your child care fees.  It provides financial support to those who qualify to assist with the costs of licensed child care programs in the Rainy River District.  Assistance is available for parents or legal guardians of children who are between the ages of 0 – 12 years.  You may qualify for full or partial subsidy.

Eligibility is based on your family’s income as outlined on your current Notice of Assessment (NOA) or your current Canada Child Benefit (CCB) Notice.  Assets and general expenses are not taken into account. If you need a copy of your Notice of Assessment, you can contact Canada Revenue Agency at 1-800-959-8281 to obtain a copy.

You can use the fee subsidy calculator above to help determine if you might be eligible for fee subsidy.  Based on the information you enter the calculator will estimate how much you will have to pay per month for licensed child care.

To use this calculator, you will need the information from line 236 of your Federal Notice of Assessment (NOA) and your partner’s NOA (if applicable); or your family net income amount from your Canada Child Benefit (CCB) notice.

Please note: The fee subsidy calculator is only intended as a basic screening tool and does not confirm if you are eligible or ineligible. The calculator only provides an estimate of the parent contribution amount using the financial information you provide.  It also does not factor in parental contribution reductions for eligible children aged 0 – 5 under the Canada Wide Early Learning and Child Care Agreement.  To determine if you are eligible please complete an application or call us at 1-800-265-5349.
