DRRSB Announces New Director of Community Services

Fort Frances, Ontario – 2025/07/21 – The District of Rainy River Services Board (DRRSB) is pleased to announce the appointment of Faisal Anwar as its new Director of Community Services, effective September 2, 2025.

Faisal brings over 21 years of leadership experience in public service, having worked with two international governments and five municipalities across three Canadian provinces. Most recently, he served as Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) for Grandview Municipality in Manitoba. Local residents may also recognize Faisal from his time as CAO for the Town of Fort Frances.

A highly accomplished professional, Faisal holds three master’s degrees—in Economics, Business Administration, and Local Economic Development—and has completed advanced training in strategic leadership and project management. Over the course of his career, he has led complex operational, economic, and social development initiatives, and is known for building strong partnerships and fostering inclusive communities.

In his new role, Faisal will oversee DRRSB’s Community Housing, Homelessness Prevention, Ontario Works, Children’s Services, and Directly Delivered Child Care programs.
