DRRSB Congratulates 2025 Bursary Recipients
Fort Frances, Ontario – 2025/07/04 – The District of Rainy River Services Board (DRRSB) is proud to announce the recipients of its 2025 Bursaries, awarded to six outstanding local students pursuing careers in key service areas.
This year’s recipients are:
• Aynsley Teeple (Fort Frances High School) – Social Work
• Isabelle Meeks (Fort Frances High School) – Primary Care Paramedic (PCP)
• Keirsten DuCharme (Fort Frances High School) – Early Childhood Educator (ECE)
• Hannah Young (Northern Lakes K-12 School) – Skilled Trades
• Jasmine MacDonald (Northern Lakes K-12 School) – Social Work
• Georgia Romyn (Rainy River High School) – Skilled Trades
Each student has been awarded a $500 bursary to support their post-secondary studies in a field aligned with the services provided by DRRSB, including Social Work, Early Childhood Education (ECE), Primary Care Paramedicine (PCP), and Skilled Trades such as plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
“We are thrilled to support the next generation of professionals who will one day help strengthen our communities,” said Charene Gillies, CAO of DRRSB. “We wish these students all the best as they take the next step in their journey and pursue their goals.”
This year, DRRSB made bursaries available at each of the district’s three high schools, encouraging students to pursue careers in sectors essential to service delivery across the Rainy River District, including Social Work, ECE, PCP, Information Technology, and the Skilled Trades.
