Two Local Paramedics Honoured with King Charles III Coronation Medal

Fort Frances, Ontario – 2025/10/10 – The District of Rainy River Services Board (DRRSB), along with Rainy River District Paramedic Services (RRDPS), is pleased to announce that paramedics Raphaël Desautéls and Syed Ali have been awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal in recognition of their significant contributions and outstanding service within Atikokan and the Rainy River District. The medals were presented by Thunder Bay-Atikokan MPP Kevin Holland during a small ceremony at the Atikokan Paramedic Station.

The King Charles III Coronation Medal was established to commemorate the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III as King of Canada. The medal honours individuals who have made a significant contribution to Canada, to a province, territory, region, or community.

Raphaël and Syed exemplify those values through their professionalism, compassion, and leadership within Rainy River District Paramedic Services. Both have shown exceptional dedication to patient care and to supporting their colleagues, consistently demonstrating the highest standards of service and teamwork. Their ongoing commitment has strengthened not only the well-being of residents but also the resilience and reputation of the paramedic team.
